In partnership with the The St. Louis Men's Group Against Cancer, The Bennett Project recently awarded 35 activity grants to our deserving warriors and their super siblings. These funds allow our kids to be just that - regular kids who participate in regular activities. Research shows that kids in treatment who have the opportunity to participate in typical activities like their peers have better long term outcomes, both physically and emotionally.
Our first grant awardee is a new warrior in our program, Jiraiya. Due to his current treatment regimen, this 3 year old bundle of energy isn't allowed to be out and about as it would compromise his health and treatement schedule. Jiraiya's family used their activity grant money to buy some fun toys to create their own special activities for him to enjoy while between appointments while he is hospitalized.
Jiraiya - keep fighting little man, you've got this!!
